28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
This verse shows just how much Jesus loves us.
He is calling to everyone to come to him. The people who will accept his call realize that he is calling people to become a part of his family.
He’s telling people to come to him, take his yoke and learn from him. He wants to help us learn how to handle our burdens, not just to take them away from us.
During God’s time on earth, we have seen him as Jesus, a gentle, humble and loving man. He will not make us accept his help but calls out to all people. Jesus is telling us that as Christians, he will help us because he loves us and we are asking for his help. He is making a promise that if we become a part of him, he can then share our load and will help make our burdens light.
We can find rest for our souls. Jesus is always ready to help with our burdens but it’s important that we are ready to accept his help.
If we are Christians (a part of his family) and we are still carrying heavy burdens then it’s because we have not given it over to The Lord. He will always help us but sometimes we either forget or just don’t want to ask him to help us.
Jesus is willing to help us bear our load, are we willing to give it over to him?
Becoming a child of God encompasses so much more than just receiving from him. If you want to enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus, then read over the following prayer a few times. When you feel that you have understood what it entails and are certain that you want Jesus in your life, then either pray the following, word for word, or just talk to God and ask him in your own words. It’s not the prayer that is important it’s what God see’s in your heart.
Do you feel that you can’t have Jesus in your life because you have too many sins or have done things that you are so ashamed of. Well… The good news is, that God has already seen them. He has watched you from before the time you were on this earth. You can’t hide anything from God. He is just waiting for you to be able to cast those sins off and begin a brand new life that includes Him.
13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Is today your day for salvation?
Knowing that I have sinned and that I need the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour, I now turn from my sins and trust Jesus for my eternal life.
I ask you Father to forgive me and to deliver me from sin’s power and give me eternal life.
I now give Jesus Christ control of my life. From this time forward, as Jesus gives me strength, I will seek to serve him and obey him in all areas of my life.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
As a result of your commitment to Christ by faith, you are now a child of God. Nothing or no-one can separate you from God.
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
The Bible tells us that …”There is joy in the presence of angels of God over one sinner who repents”
PLEASE NOTE: Yes, if you prayed for forgiveness, you are now a child of God and will never have to say the Sinners prayer again. You have secured a spot in Heaven and that will never change.
However, as we are still children on this earth, we will still sin. Confession of your sins is not something you do just the one time or even periodically. Whenever you sin, you should immediately go before God and ask for forgiveness from the sin.
The best thing you can do right now is find a good church, one that preaches on Jesus being a part of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and one that believes Jesus died for our sins.
The price Jesus paid for our sins was His death on the cross! May we always be thankful.
